At Alexandria Carpet One & Commercial Carpets of America, we are proud to carry the very-green line of un-dyed wools by Earth Weave. Earth Weave starts by using only pure wool with no dyes, pesticides, or stain protections that are commonly used in the carpet industry. The application of these chemicals would greatly affect indoor air quality through off-gassing of VOC’s (volatile organic compounds). The primary backing used is also an industry-first combination of hemp and cotton. Earth Weave is the only carpet company to incorporate an all natural primary backing that is specifically designed for use in biodegradable flooring.

The hardy hemp fiber is used due to its durability, strength, and mold and mildew resistance. Wool yarns are locked into place with a natural adhesive that is derived from the rubber tree that is completely biodegradable and non-toxic. Jute is used for the secondary backing. Jute was commonly used in the carpet industry before the introduction of the synthetic backings currently employed. This type of backing completes the picture of a completely natural and non-toxic carpet.
Following are the available styles and colors:

Snowfield, Granite, Tussock, Ursus
