Following are photos of the installation process for Earthscapes resilient flooring recently completed in our Alexandria showroom.
We’ve been moving thousands of square feet of Earthscapes and it was time to give the resilient section of our showroom a facelift. There was no better choice than the Titanium series for this high-traffic, frequently-abused section of our busy showroom.
Earthscapes Titanium series has a commercial warranty and will definitely hold up to whatever we can throw its way!
Following are the specifications for our particular installation: Flooring installed: Earthscapes Titanium, pattern 948 – Carpet One’s exclusive, top-of-the-line resilient floor. Commercially-rated, suitable for below-grade installations and extreme use. Install method:

Direct-lay over multiple types of existing resilient flooring.
Also, for this installation, I chose not to skim coat the existing floor to show certain performance charactistics to our customers and explain the necessity for certain types of floor prep in various applications. Transitions were varied because the Earthscapes Titanium needed to flow smoothely with the following types of existing flooring:
- Stretch-in woven carpet by Stanton
- Double-Stick commercial carpet over Treadmor pad in my office
- Direct-glue commercial carpet tile at the sales staff entrance
- Bare concrete floor at the entrance to our remnant area and warehouse
- Direct glue engineered hardwood
- Floating reclaimed heart pine
So, this was a tricky task, but our crews are more than up to the challenge as you’ll see below.
Using patching compound and flooring to gauge thickness for a flush fit with some existing glued-down engineered wood flooring.
